Beverage Coolers

Beverage coolers, often called beverage centers, are stylish and the most convenient way for your favorite refreshments to stay chilled and ready to serve. There's a model best suited for your needs among the many sizes and combinations available, and their compact design allows you to install them where they'll be most effective.

Let's explore the benefits of owning a beverage cooler and compare it to a beverage refrigerator.

What are Beverage Coolers?

Beverage coolers are fantastic appliances designed to keep your drinks chilled. Unlike a beverage refrigerator, a beverage cooler has an LED light that illuminates the beverages at all times and a transparent door that allows it to be seen from the outside.

Types of Beverage Coolers

  • Freestanding beverage centers: Freestanding units are usually the more affordable option because they can be placed anywhere in your home with an outlet nearby and enough clearance for proper ventilation. They are an excellent option if you don't want to change their existing cabinetry.
  • Built-in beverage centers: Built-in beverage coolers can be placed between cabinets and are ideal for home renovation projects and upgrades. These built-in beverage coolers can be great for game rooms, kitchen islands, or the dining room. They are also available in various sizes.
  • Under-counter beverage centers: Under-counter beverage coolers can be built into cabinets but are specifically made to fit under counters.
  • Side-by-side beverage centers: This beverage cooler has double pane glass or french doors. They typically have dual or multi-zone temperature zones, allowing you to store a wide range of beverages.

Differences Between Beverage Coolers and Beverage Refrigerators

Even though a beverage cooler and beverage refrigerator keep your drinks chilled and ready to serve, they have some differences.

    Shelving and Storage

A beverage cooler is designed explicitly for cooling drinks. The internal space and shelving make the most available storage space for bottles, cans, and drink boxes. Some beverage centers are even listed by the capacity of their beverage cans instead of the standard cubic feet (cu. ft.) storage capacity used by refrigeration units. There may be some dead space with a beverage refrigerator and empty areas containing nothing but air. Not as many drinks can be stored depending on the size and the layout of the shelves and door.

    Internal Temperature

A beverage refrigerator would be better if you're looking to chill more than just your beverages, such as dairy products.

When purchasing a beverage cooler, remember that low-alcohol beers need to be chilled at 45 to 50 degrees F. Beers with higher alcohol content need to be chilled at temperatures ranging between 55 to 60 degrees F. For all non-alcoholic beverages, temperatures can be in the low 30s F.

    Conclusion

There are many differences and similarities between beverage coolers and refrigerators in terms of appearance and their uses. As a result, deciding on the best beverage cooling device will depend on your preferences. However, beverage coolers are ideal for all types of beverages to store and keep chilled.
